written for prf songwriting challenge, week 19, "write a car song in 3/4 or 6/8." there was a big park in my hometown. lots of hills, trees, all of that. back in highschool, i spent a great deal of time here, reading zines and writing bad poetry and smoking camels and drinking beers at the old stone bandshell. the park didn't really have street lights and in the winter, the moon would reflect off of the snow and one could drive around without the lights on.
lyrics
turn down the volume
turn off the heat
check the rear view display
no traffic patterns
no need to yield
i'll be on my way
i'm driving with my eyes closed
act like nothing's wrong
i'm driving with the lights out
act like you're not gone
